Christmas Cookies

My Grandma always made the cookies above.  My Dad has been wanting them for years. I finally tried them this year.  He liked them but did let me know they were a little thick.  Good to know for the next batch!

Cookies

Well, they're bribes I think to try to get people to buy stuff at a show I'm doing!

New pattern and fabric

I got a new pattern today for doll clothes.  I don't know if I think it's as cute as I thought it was going to be, but it's nice to have new/options for doll clothes.  I also got an envelope of Barbie patterns.  Until now, I've only used ones I found online and tweaked a little bit.  Excited to see what those are like, mostly though how difficult they will be to execute.
Today is our friend's 60th birthday.  I sent her flowers the other day and today baked her a chocolate on chocolate cake and stopped by to see her.  She's a great person who has been wonderful to us and deserves a very happy, sweet, birthday!

Birthday cake

For my father-in-law's birthday, he wanted cheesecake.  I don't have a spring form pan so I used a ready graham crust.  I thought it came out nicely until my mother-in-law cut it and it was a total mess.  She blamed the knife not being sharp enough, but also I think you're supposed to use a warm knife or one dipped in water?  Everyone said it tasted good but maybe that was because once served, I topped it with cherries.

Dog food

My grandpa died in '07.  He was my favorite person ever. I am so glad that Louie knew him and loved him too. Now, Louie has cancer.  He's my second favorite person.  If it was up to the amount of love and attention given and received, he'd live forever, or at least I hope he would!  Here are some meatballs about to go in the oven, for him of course!

Donuts

These are the real deal: homemade dough with yeast that had to rise, the whole 9. The review was that they were 'cakier' than anticipated and did I forget the vanilla in the glaze? Oh yes, I did, and for that comment alone, this will probably be my last time making donuts. But, it didn't end there, one more zinger, "Those biscuit ones are just as good."

Dinner for a couple of nights

Stuffed cabbages, pigs in a blanket, whatever you want to call them, they cover dinner for a couple of nights and are therefore perfect.
