Trying to get reloaded....

Today was bath day for Louie. While I was out running errands, I found out that he was a little naughty while he was getting his ears cleaned and tried to bite his daddy. So, I not only picked up some special treats for him, but I also got this special flannel fabric for his winter bandana. He loves to be fancy and since this fabric, called "Junkyard dog" was so fitting of his mood today, I had to buy some. I love his pose. He's kind of trying to give the "how's this?" glance. "Can you see all my dogs?"
So, here's where I am starting to get "reloaded". Last weekend, I sold a couple of blankets, a onesie, a couple of bibs, and a hat. One of the blankets was a gift I had intended to give, so I made this one to replace it. BUT, everything is for sale, so if you see it and like it, it is of course for sale! I used edging on it rather than additional trim as it keeps the cost down. I almost did this blanket stitch by hand, but then let my machine do it. On one of these blankets, I'm thinking of adding a crocheted trim, but today, there just wasn't time.

I got this cute dog fabric and made a coordinating onesie. This gift kind of speaks for itself, but I'll explain anyway. I used a dog and a bone from the fabric to embellish the front and back of the onesie. I skipped trim again but used decorative stitching instead to match the stitching on the embellishments.

I think I am going to make a hat tonight to match this burp cloth. I need a small, light gift to send off for a boy and think this will do it. I have a couple more of these plain burp cloths that I plan to embellish, but not yet sure how. I am thinking of actually making a dog one to complete that set: a blanket, a onesie, and a burp cloth.

  1. I love Louie's new bandana! Very stylish, in a rough & tough sort of way. And that picture is so cute, like he's saying, "Don't make me go Junkyard Dog on you, Dad!"
