I can't believe I've never done this before. I was asked to donate to a benefit for a child being held in February and so I got to work as soon as I could. The benefit is organized as a silent auction of different themed baskets. For example, there's a wine basket, a book basket, a beauty basket, and a baby/children's basket, among others. Totally cool idea. So far, I made this for the baby/children's basket obviously:

I can't believe I've never made one of these before. They come out cute and super cozy. Fleece is awesome. Anyone can make this-I made it with no instructions. I've seen them and knew that basically the only skill required for this is cutting a straight line. For this one, I cut all of the sides first, both layers at once. I knotted each "string" twice. In an attempt to make it perfect, I first tied all the white strips over the brown ones, flipped the blanket and then tied all the brown over the white. If I make another one, I may just tie each one twice as I make my way around the blanket, that is, if I can keep track of which way I'm tying first and second. Tomorrow, I am going to try to come up with something else to donate.
Thank you Megan. It is going to be absolutely perfect. I appreciate your generosity for this boys family.
